Raynard Davis - Beverage Manager

Raynard Davis, our Beverage Department Manager, has been with Labatt for 25 years. Few people know this, but Raynard is a University of Texas at Austin graduate who was drafted to the NBA by the San Antonio Spurs in 1987. Since leaving the Spurs and joining Labatt, Raynard has been very passionate about serving the community through his love of sports. He regularly meets with schools and youth sports teams, providing them with motivational speeches on dedication, setting goals, and continuing education. A few of the charitable organizations he has volunteered for are Labatt’s Junior Achievement program, the San Antonio YMCA Board, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Camp Stewart, and Habitat for Humanity. In addition to his volunteer efforts, he is very active in youth ministry outreach and has been a Youth Deacon for 8 years.
Was there any specific event or reason that you started to serve your community?
“The reason I started to serve the community is because of my mother and father, who both spent 58 years ministering to the San Antonio community and in other countries.”
What is your biggest motivation for community service?
“My biggest motivation for doing community service is that as an individual, I know I can make a difference in the community.”
What do you enjoy the most about what you do for your community?
“What I enjoy most about what I do is meeting people from various backgrounds and sharing my life experiences with others.”
What would you say is the biggest reward from community service?
“The biggest reward is to know that I helped to make the life of someone else a little bit better than it was before we met.”
Do you have any advice for people who are looking to get more involved in community service and outreach?
“My advice for people who are looking to get involved is to explore what your passions are and find out how to use them to support and benefit others through service.”
When he is not busy serving the community, Raynard enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his family; his wife Phyllis and daughter Desiray, who is in her first year of college.
