Innovation in Ordering
LabattFood Ordering System
Like all Labatt systems, this web ordering system was written completely in-house by Labatt’s own developers. It is a tool that is fundamental to the ordering and fulfilment process. Ninety-five percent of the product sold at Labatt is ordered electronically.
LFOS has a sophisticated search engine and a rich database of product images. It is a hub for constant promotional activities. The LFOS resource gives our top manufacturers a portal by which they may reach customers online. It is an efficient means for manufacturers to share and promote new products to current and future customers.
For customers with multiple locations, LabattFood Ordering System gives management control of the ordering process and access to common pricing, which remains consistent across wide geographic areas.
“Labatt Online” is another important online innovation. This e-commerce website makes it possible for independent operators to shop online and receive dramatically reduced pricing designed so as to make them fully competitive with bigger chains.
Our web-based resources protect our customers and our manufacturers so that we can all grow together—efficiently and with transparency.
Intracompany Inventory Management
Labatt has an especially efficient system for managing inventories in multiple warehouses. Not every item is stocked in every warehouse. However, every item is available to every customer in all locations. This is achieved through our complex “intracompany” shipments. Product from San Antonio is transferred nightly to each warehouse and delivered to all customers in a timely manner. Our “intracompany” routes also transfer product to cover out-of-stocks and to transship product that has been delivered to one central receiving point. All of these systems are designed to reduce the inefficiencies of having multiple inventories. These systems also help us buy and house product in each warehouse at the lowest possible price. Labatt creates and continuously improves all the software to manage these transfers.
